My drums were junk so I did not find it necessary. Once the swedge was cut away, stud was just "hung up" One hit freed it. My hubs spun totally true. Key is to ensure you got the swedging out.

With this style hub, the stud and the drum below are taking the stress. The hub is really floating at this point. Once swedge is freed, it's not holding the hub any longer.
