Wow! I envy you! Well Sorta! I made that trip last year at the end of Sept too. However, I had a new Ford Transit with AC and I was able to maintain 70-80 mph. My advice would be to find 50-60 mph roads (route 66 ?)and stay off the interstates Insulate your floor boards, My coupe gets hot inside. Carry extra water and a "Bandaid" radiator sealer. Know your vehicle! Does it run hot? Guzzle gas? or any other characteristic that might get you into trouble. I don't know how much gas you're are going to be able to barter for, not much I'd assume, but try it. Best of luck!
