Wow, what a great trip. Wish you were headed through our way, I too play traditional music, old time banjo and guitar. I would add to the great safety comments already posted that turn signals and 4 way flashers would be a good idea. Many people don't know hand signals and they never did work well in the dark. Also some portable safety triangles to put on the road if you do need to pull over for a repair.
