The fuel pump on my 49 Ford hot rod rusted up again. I guess only no alcohol gas from now on. Did the same thing in 2016. Plastic gas tank. When it wouldn't start I today removed the fuel line to EFI unit, pumped some gas to a container and found I had reddish fuel and water. Tank had about 5 gallons of alcohol gas in it. Gas tank was reading low from rusted sender so I put in a couple gallons of no alcohol lawn mower fuel in it. Oops, new in tank fuel pump, fuel sending unit, and fuel filter. $300 ouch!

I wonder what the stock gas tank on my 41 woodie flathead looks like inside?

Others had the same experience with alcohol gas?

I put some Rust 911 in tank to hopefully get out all the rusty sediment, will know for sure tomorrow.
