I have to admit, that was fascinating, and I learned a few things. Admittedly, he is talking about today's modern, tight-tolerance engines, and it doesn't apply so much to our 90-year-old engines.
As a kid, always with an old, beat up car, as it started to burn oil the natural thing to do was to change to a thicker oil. I know that in today's modern cars you just don't do that. This helps explain why. I especially liked his explanation on making choices about changing to a different dual viscosity oil.
