I had a '68 Corvette with a cracked pot metal headlight bezel. I used some of that pot metal brazing rod that I got on-line several years ago and it worked better than I expected. I used a regular Bernz-o-matic torch with Mapp gas and practiced on some scrap first. Even with that experience, I don't know that I would try it on an early Mercury grille because of age and scarcity. When I did the Corvette piece, I already had a replacement located in the case of a complete failure.

I think that if you could find someone experienced in this it would be better than trying to do it yourself (unless you are that skilled person).
