Wow! That was a time ago for sure! They had huge spools or barrels of rope in the cellar and holes in the floor... Yes I remember, but no longer. The Demopolis Bros bought huge stockpiles of navy/ marine gear and supplies after ww2. Much of it is still in stock and for sale, but it IS running out fast. And now it has new owners and a lot of what they sell to tourists is stuff made overseas. Still a must stop when we get to Anacortes!
