Default Fan shroud seal ('57 thunderbird)

I just went out and looked at my '55 and also the shroud top from my '57.
The shroud from the late '57 doesn't look like it ever had that seal, no holes for staples.
The front edge of the '55 shroud (photo) seems like that seal could fit fine if the lip were facing up.
Any chance it's upside down?

Good question. Don’t have a trim & sealer manual, but dad does. I’ll ask him to take a look.

Anything is possible in it being upside down. When I replaced it, the original (or what looked to be original) seal was turned the same way. The leading edge did look different though. Might check with CASCO tomorrow.

FYI, this is a July ‘57 car. Not as late as your yellow one, but interesting that it doesn’t have that seal.
