I had a big one, a Metal Ace kit and sold it after my hand surgeries.
I bought a smaller one like you have and it does almost everything I need it to do.
As Kiwi say's "practice, practice, practice".
Also YouTube is your friend. There are countless hours of techniques by some real professionals.
I have been doing it for years and am still learning.
