Default Re: Modify floor boards

At one of the French Lick National Meets, someone on the grand tour in a fordor ran off the road on a downgrade, and rolled the car over. I was not there, but videos were posted here and elsewhere. After watching the videos, I realized that even in a gentle roll-over (if there is such a thing) my floor boards would fall out and rattle around inside the car with me; and worse, my battery, which was also not tied down, would dangle from its cables and beat me up with every swing. Now I know my Model A is not really the safest thing to be driving in a collision, but I think I should make efforts to keep it at least as safe as originally designed. The French Lick video prompted me to secure the battery and the floorboards for the first time since 1964.

I believe that securing the floorboards and the battery gives you a greater margin of safety, however slight.
