The rod for early 1937 (cast iron intake) is 52 9400A (5 5/8") Cast iron were only used on the early 1937 engines.
Info from 1928-1937 Chassis parts list and1938-1941 chassis parts list and 1938 chassis parts list. Apparently Mac's is using the Green book for info and it is wrong.
Hope this help you.

In looking over my notes on this subject it appears the error occurred in the Ford 1949 issue of the Orange chassis parts book which was the forerunner of the 1950 issued Green chassis parts book. That was the first time they added the cast iron or aluminum reference to the pump rod except they got them turned around. Prior to that the only rod listed was the 52-9400-B (6 3/8")
Thanks for that info.....ordered the correct one from Mac's!
