Default Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Good looking truck! I know what you mean about how they used to ride. My Uncle and I decided we needed a "hunting rig" to take from SD to CO for deer hunting season.

The rational was, that he didn't want to take his modern, nice-new trucks on trips up into the mountains, through the mud, get branch scratches on them, etc.. We had a particularly bad experience the year before (brand new truck) - so he did NOT want to repeat it.

So - it seemed like a reasonable thing to find a good solid older truck. So, he bought a 1980 or so Chevy 2500 4-wheel drive (3/4 ton) - ran great, no rust, etc. Well, after one 8-hour trip in that sucker - we all decided "Enough of this BS" - these old trucks are miserable to ride in!

So much for the "Hunting Rig" . . . it never strayed far from home again . . .
