The rear engine/transmission mount usually doesn't contribute much to the usual clutch chatter unless it is broken or oil soaked. We usually put a grease fitting extension on when we replace that mount, as it can make getting a grease gun on the fitting difficult without it. The annoying clutch chatter is a legacy of the original design which was first used in the Model T days and continued thru 1948. Old Henry Ford was fanatically opposed to change of any kind, and used the buggy spring/torque tube system long after it was obsolete. His resistance to his son's (Edsel) designs almost cost him the company when the Model A was proposed. He went so far as to have a new '39 converted to mechanical brakes because he didn't trust the hydraulics used on his competitor's vehicles. His successor, Henry II, saved the brand with the "new" Ford of 1949. Those of us with great affection for the early Fords just live with the chatter, for the most part.
