Default Electric vs. windup clock for '55 Ford car

Ford made two different optional clocks for '55 cars. One is electric, 6V, stamping on back of case says it was made by Borg in Chicago. The other is a wind-up version, no manufacturer stamping on back of case. The faces look almost identical, except the electric version has a knob in the center to set it and a tiny adjustment screw at top to adjust it to run faster or slower. The windup version has a knob at the 6:00 position that is pulled out to set it and pushed in to wind it. Since the car is going to be 12V when I get it back on the road, using the wind-up clock will make things simpler than using the electric clock that is original to the car (my parents bought the car new). I can't get the wind-up clock to run, somebody may have over-wound it or it just may need a good cleaning and lubrication. Can you tell me of anybody that works on these wind-up clocks who might be able to get the thing running?
