Default Re: What kinda needle and seat????

I've had one that worked out well and one that didn't. That's a 50% chance of failure where I come from. I have owned probably 75-100 contraptions in my life with a tapered needle and seat and my favorite were with the viton tipped needle. That may have been before ethanol. I never had problems with either brass/steel needles or viton tipped ones unless I was lazy or disinterested and let the contraption sit for a year or two with stale gas in the tank. Offered two otherwise identical carb kits I'd take the one with the old school needle and seat.
