I am in the midst of completing the new 1940 book. Most true "1940 Ford guys" know there were numerous omissions and mistakes in the first book.
That being (hopefully) understood, you need to understand that relying on one source for all of the information required to restore any vehicle is your mistake and as such you "own it".
While I am quite confident the new 1940 manual will be as close to "perfectly" researched and subsequently written, I will clearly advise all that prudence requires other sources be utilized.
No one, including myself, can possibly know it all.

I think instead of asking for a discount, perhaps you should offer your thanks to the person(s) making the necessary effort to write a new book.
