16 screws probably applies to the larger curtain light frames used on Sport Coupes. We use only 12.

I've never nailed down the specifics but there were two different thicknesses of curtain light frames (and corresponding screw lengths) for the two types of glass offered. Laminated glass was offered beginning 1930 with deluxe models. 1/4" is too thick and too heavy! I've been using 1/8" laminated glass for most of the last 30 years.
