You might be interested to know that your oil can is actually an oil can for a Ford Model T based on how the spout screws into the base.
Though they look very similar, on the Model A oil can (part number A-17040), the base of the spout has a female thread to mate with the male part of the oil can base. (Your Model T oil can has the male part on the threads of the spout that screws into the female threads on the oil can base.)
Note that the oil can bracket was not an original Ford Model A part. There is no part number for it and it is not listed in the parts books. Originally the oil can was just part of the Tool Kit.
According to the
Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards, "the oil can was used in A's and AA's from beginning of production through April 1928. There were seven manufacturers of the oil cans.....and some of the oilcans had an H, M or N trademark below the Ford script. The oil can was copper plated steel (not painted). The diameter of the base was 3-5/16" and the total height was 5-5/16". Spouts were either knurled or plain. The spout was always straight, not curved, with a female thread (to mate with the oil can male thread), and was copper or tin plated." (RG&JS page 17-1, Rv. 2016)
