Rear shot of the same Canadian Monarch Convertible as appears in the previous Post. Another picture compliments of MyStarCollectorCar.
What is interesting in the photo is that while the Monarch was based on the 118" wheelbase Mercury, it still retained the regular Ford Tail Lights. That was because the Monarch was sold in Ford Dealerships. Another interesting point is the position of the Bumper Guards on the rear. On the same model Mercury, they were spaced wider apart, added to where you can see the Bumper Bolt. Apparently, in an effort to make a distinction between the Mercury and Monarch, they chose to locate the Bumper Guards in different locations on the two models, so that they did not look the same. Just a thought?
