An "underslung" has the frame & springs hung under the axles. One of the most famous was the American Underslung which was made around 1905-1912 or there abouts. With the frame & springs below the axles they were very low & sleek looking for their day. With Ford's buggy type springs I don't see how this could be accomplished. Underslungs had four springs. A friend had one about 30 yrs ago. Harry Stutz was one of the designers.
