Katy,it's because ethanol-free is not just gas that has not had the alcohol added to it.Gas for ethanol is formulated to an octane rating of about 77.Then the alcohol is added to bring it up to the octane desired.Ethanol free is refined to it's desired octane,hauled in a different tank,stored in a different tank,delivered in a different compartment,then to another different tank to be pumped.Lot of work to go through for a slow moving product.A station in town thought he would do well handling it,after selling a couple thousand gallons in a few months he decided he was done tying up that tank.The people that told him how well he would do with it turned out to be armchair analysts.
