Welcome on the barn. You need to find a car that is as close to complete as possible. The parts for Mercury cars are even somewhat hard to find over here in the US. My Mercury cars are the later 1951 models but there are still a fair amount of late 40s models out there. The dash pieces are very hard to find now. They were reproduced for a time but the fellow that made them died a few years back. Most offerings are the Ford car type now and they don't fit.
