I thought I heard them say in the video that they were
Hirth 2 cycle engines. A "Google" search shows they are now into engines for ultra-lights and other small aircraft. Back in the sixties, they were used in a lot of snowmobiles.
I believe they are made in Germany.
The VW engine was used by another guy with a replica Fokker
DR1 (which also has to be a remarkable achievement).
