Jseery may be on to something about using clips. I have a 1964-70 Motors manual and it shows an integral housing Ford rear axle that looks similar to what your pictures show that uses C clips on the axle ends. The steps to remove them are:
1. Working through the differential case opening, remove the pinion shaft lock bolt and pinion shaft.
2. Push axle shafts inward toward center of axle housing and remove the C locks from housing.

The pinion shaft is visible in your picture showing the gears. Look to see if you can see the clips on the ends of the axle.
