There are a lot of ways to go on this.
If you have the facilities, all it takes is a piece of aluminum 2 inches thick and 10 inches square (approx) and a piece of 1/4" thick aluminum big enough to fit on the front of a SBC bell housing.
There is no complicated layout. You need a milling machine and a sawzall or band saw.
