I used to belong to the Roadrunner RG north of the OP, and they did longer cruises once or twice a year. The problem in NM is that distances are pretty long between "points of interest" compared to back east or on the coasts. Down in Roswell I imagine you could easily put on 250 miles (RT) and through some pretty desolate country. We were fortunate to be an hour from the northern mountains where there are a lot of interesting sites, but driving up there requires cars in good condition throughout, especially brakes.

One thing we did that was interesting and didn't involve lots of driving was to put on a parking lot "show" at a retirement home/assisted living facility. Obviously a good audience for old cars, for people who can't always get out and around. Lots of interesting stories from the folks there.
