Complete project. 59AB Flathead V8 runs, clutch works, trans grinds in 1st and Reverse, wiring shot, body very solid, trunk rotted out, brakes there but need everything, same with fuel system. Dash rough but complete, interior all there but shot.
‘42 Mercs are uncommon. In February of ‘42 the war production board shut down production of non-essential vehicles and the plants all shifted to manufacturing military vehicles and equipment.
This particular car belonged to a prominent Japanese family in San Jose, CA that was sent to an internment camp in Colorado. Interesting story if you’re into that sort of thing... happy to provide details.
