I seen Nate mention this indicator cast in the block. A diamond. I believe he had information that dated it at 1938 or newer? I was a little suprised to find it. Just another tidbit of the story behind this old truck and its back story.
Good news is this block does not have any current water leaks.

Below is the link where I found my information. There should be a casting number on the passenger side of the block and the chart in this link shows how to read it. In my research some claim diamond blocks to be more desirable because of better casting material/updated molds. Others say that is false and they used the same molding and specs as original. Either way it’s what we have!
