Default Re: 24 Stud Motor with Casting Number C 254 11 ??

.

Hey Chuck...Out of all the wonderful info that Mac VanP has compiled for the world on his great site, you're not likely to find the number " C 254 11 " hidden amongst any of it. Many similarly-styled numbers are lost as to their original meanings, but obviously played some part in the original casting and block-mold process. If you could even give us an idea of where that number is found on the block, it MAY (or may NOT) help determine whether that "C" MIGHT mean "Canadian" origin, or "Commercial" application, or just superfluous information.

Better clues would include number of head studs, distributor type, rear bellhousing configuration, oil fill/breather location, raised or flat intake manifold surface, numbers cast into the heads, fan configuration, and certainly a picture or three. DD
