My bet is the clutch disc lining has become stuck to the flywheel surface.

Had you not adjusted the pressure plate, I would have suggested a couple of ways to free the disc. with it still in the vehicle With the P/P being "adjusted" now, my suggestion is to completely disassemble and rebuild the pressure plate and re-line the disc.
