If it's been out in the weather for any length of time, the block is likely rusted too far gone. The crank and rods may have some value if they aren't rusted up. If it's been in a building out of the weather then there might be a better chance of usable parts. A lot of blocks were tossed due to freeze cracks up in the colder climates.
