If you are using a gas conversion you must make sure the polarity is correct, when I switch from GMAW TO FCAW . The polarity for FCAW welding should be set for D.C. negative electrode, A.K.A DECEN and for GMAW ( Mig ) the polarity should be set for direct current electrode positive A.K.A DECEP or reverse polarity, I Use mostly 75/25 gas for general Mig Welding and 90/8/2 in some cases, depending on what I am welding. The wire and gases I Use depends on what material I am welding ,you can expect a good deal of spatter when using flux core. That torch looks like a Tweco I had , I bought some parts from Harbor freight.
