The black Merc sedan is a '39. Hood trim, grill and nose of hood's "beak" shape are the big give-aways. Note "wide-five" wheel, and NO wing-vent in front window. Those headlight doors are the cheap-ass aftermarket sealed-beam "upgrade" units that make most of us cringe....stock '39s still had bulb & reflector like a Ford. A true '40 Merc is in the pic below.
