Answer to OP question. Yes, the converter you listed IS capable of converting your 6 volt positive ground car power to 12 v negative ground. Just run two wires, a positive AND negative, from the converter to whatever device you want to use. Just make sure the negative (black) wire does not come into contact with the car chassis. Those converters are very tough and reliable as long as you use treat them properly.
