The original engine block color was called Ford Red.
It appeared to have an orange tint. Originally it was a high temperature enamel.
Mac's sells it in a spray can, made by Semour, Hi-Tech Engine COATING (doesn't tell you what is really is, could be ceramic.
Yes all the stamped steel engine parts are painted gloss black, except for the air cleaner which was painted with Ford Argent Silver, also sold at Mac's and many other resto parts suppliers.
