It sounds like an old Snow Go snow blower truck. Those things had all sorts of levers and cables.
Most of the old bob tail dump trucks only used a 2-speed axle with a 4-speed transmission but it depends on how old it is and what aftermarket company made the bed and lift set up. My Pop's first dump bed truck was a 1940 Chevrolet Deluxe COE with a 216. It had a real interesting shift linkage set up with a lever operated 2-speed rear axle plus the hydraulic lift set up. His next one was a 1948 F6 Ford. It was one of the Yellow ones with a red Tradewinds bed and you could tell it was coming from a mile off easy.
