All this info and comments about the actual name for the panel and only one reply answering my original question... The gap between the _____ ( insert panel name you prefer ) and the upper edge of the trunklid/decklid..I'm having to drill all hinge mount holes and hoping to get them as close as possible....Don't want the lid to rub on the (whatever you prefer) panel , so I'm gonna shoot for 1/8"-3/16" as Oldbluoval kindly recommended

BTW : I'm an old-timer myself..Turned 78 last November...strating to question my sanity in starting this coupe project...!!!
