Hi Dan,

One thought is maybe the distance from the center of the throttle shaft to the hole where you connect the linkage on your Holley is a lot more than the original carb to the car. In that case, it would require more travel to get to WOT. Just a thought.
Also, the engine probably still had good power because the rear barrels will start to open when the front barrels are just partially opened. Once you get to true WOT, you may be in for a pleasent surprise.
