CE Rear End Mounts...Really SLICK Alternative
For all the folks out there with the need to mount a pair of parallel leaf springs on your chassis to replace the stock banjo set-up, here's a really cool alternative to the CE-type mounts that I ran across several years ago, and it just about looks like a factory set-up that could have been. The chassis shown is a '40 pick-up, which is essentially the same as a car. These brackets come from under the front end of a Chevy AD (Advanced Design) pick-up from the years of '48-'54. There are still gazillions of 'em sitting out there behind a tree on the farm, just waiting to offer-up these four brackets for use under your Ford. I have no idea what the spring is that's in use here, but I'd bet it wouldn't be too hard to figure a starting point for a spring. DD
