Starting at the beginning
So figured this may as well be assessed, it turned with crank so I bought it last year. After wrangling cables got the floppy switch to run the starter motor, but freewheel. Pulled the drive apart, gear did not turn and slide up the screw. Also the bolts were not tight in the spring. Fortunately kind of knew where the starter parts pile was, found a bendix that was free as well as the correct inner bolt to anchor spring. Bench run properly, got screws to fasten switch down, oil in plug holes, cranked over good and sounded like valves were sealing. Sure is refreshing to work on old stuff for a change. Next spark, then rig up gas, this may be a runner.
