Tommy, you're correct about the tightness of the lower hoses. As the need doesn't come up very often, old hoses aren't worth saving anyway, but lifting and wiggling will gain enough room. The removal and reinstallation of the water pumps is made very easy with the jack under the pan with a wood block for the pan. You may do it that way and renew the motor mounts while you're at it.
