Wherever the bad connection is. If the repro ignition switch isn't working, then connect the clip lead to the two studs or screws on the switch, to bypss the contacts. If the ammeter fails to make a good connection, then just jump the two wing nuts on the cover. If the cuout doesn't fails, then connect the input and output terminals. If you use a fuse and it blows you can jump across the two fuse clips as long as the short has been fixed.
