Here are some pics of a complete front stabilizer set up for a 41 Ford car.
The flat side of the inward rubber dampers mounts to the bottom of the frame rail just ahead of the front cross member. The open space of the elongated u face back towards the axle.
The bar it self attaches to the axle with shackle studs the ends of which you can still see to the corresponding bracket on the axle perch.
As was mentioned prior, your spring perches look to have been cut off and as was also mentioned was the fact that getting the old ones out can be a PITA but not an impossible job.
They do not reproduce the 41 spring perches but they do come up for sale on various auction site as well as our own classifieds.
If you buy a set make sure that the threads on the shaft that goes thru the axle are not buggered up as this is a common occurance.
42 may be different as I believe the front axles got wider. Not positive on that though.
