That could be, and most likely is true. The story I got (back in the day) was as I stated. It was also rumored that applying an STP decal to a window in your car/truck resulted in an additional 10 horsepower at a minimum... To say nothing of the 'COOL' factor. Hence the application of an STP decal on the window of my '48 TuDor Sedan back in '65...
