Default Re: swapping a rear end in a 1950 F1 pickup

I have a 41 3/4 ton truck with a stake bed, 8CM, 77b Isky cam, running a 28 tooth trans out of a car, longer second gear for traffic and I run a 3:25 9" rear end. Great cruiser, a little hard to start off on a hill, but probably because of the extra weight I am toting. I also used a 3:54 gear with it but the gears were noisy and then I tried the 3:25. I thought I would get the 3:54 repaired and put it back in, but I have gotten used to the higher gear.
