That's another great thing about Evapo-rust. It is not an acid nor an alkali and can be disposed of down the toilet. It is not toxic in any way. Of course, no chemical will remove old casting sand which I think is the main source of the problem cooling flatheads that are otherwise totally free of rust. Manual labor is the only way for that crud.
