Your Aunt's hatefulness, probably, cost her a lot of money.
I was on the receiving end of something similar, many years ago. A part of my job was cashing checks for employees, in a large office building. One day, a lady brought in a large glass jar filled with Barbour coins, Indian head pennies, etc. to cash in for face value. I was able to keep them by replacing the value.
