Default Re: V8 Grand National Concours South Lake Tahoe

Hello mikebishop, Here's what I remember of this awesome green '34.

It was not officially part of the show, likely because of the body mods. It doesn't scream Early Ford V8 Club. But it was in and out of the public parking lot close by the show field, for a couple of days, I think, maybe I was just standing there when it rolled in. It was well placed I'd say, especially since some of the official 'Display' vehicles were some distance away.

Kudos to the hosting clubs for handling a number of cars never attained before. Display guys: I visited your cars three times during the meet, so I need to be sure to say thanks. Some of the display cars were very very cool, period correct, modifications. Because I visited them three times, you know I like them, many were very nicely done. One of them was almost a twin for JM35's car, and we looked at it for quite a while.

Never looked under the hood of the green '34, so can't say if it was flat, but honestly, on this car, I could have handled it. I did hear it running and the rumble was as impressive as the body. The car was VERY NICE. From the outside, equal to many of the concourse judged cars a hundred yards away.

The bodywork on this vehicle was Pebble Beach quality. The sectioning of the body, IMHO, caused the metalworker a HUGE issue with everything from the rear window to the bumper. Whatever was done, was impossibly nice. It seems to me that all of the panels were hand made by an expert fabricator. I never pinged its fender, but it looked steel to me. So many hours were devoted to, and were rewarded with, an amazing modification.

Also the grill had to be shortened, and you couldn't tell.

I walked past this car three or four times and it stopped me for a closer look almost every time.

I didn't look through my photos, but were those you posted mine? I might have about two shots of it if I go back and look. All the photos of mine are available in the above links.
