Default Re: Radiator Recorring

I had my rad recorred a couple of years ago. I had the shop build a 4-row, 10 fins per inch "commercial" rig to help my Tudor from overheating. That was a mistake, after two hot summers. I even back flushed the system, however whenever it gets over (30 deg. C / 83 F. she starts to percolate. Just a side note, I own an '28 'AR' which has a different sized core compared to the rest of the 'A's. The core measures 19 1/2" between the bottom of the top tank and the top of the bottom tank. After July/28 (the time e-brakes were installed), the radiator core was expanded to 20". I found that out when I tried a '30 rad, just to see how it would fit, and realized the hood/ rad shell was 1" higher off the side sills. I couldn't use the hood latches to secure the hood down.
It's unfortunate because there isn't any "AR" rads out there that are being made for regular 'off the shelf' sales. I had to pay $500.00 bucks to have mine custom made.
I wonder why this discrepancy isn't mentioned in the judging standards or Ford documentation? Anybody have a spare working AR rad, cheap? Please email me via our website: modelaowners.com - Thanks
