The later condensers you buy at the stores are done under bulk contracts and are generally not good quality. I know the guys on the Mustang boards have complained about them. I have also heard some of the Harley guys have had problems with the new ones.

The style that A&L makes are likely made with very good quality condensers, they spent the extra $.10 to make the product right. Your best bet is to use them.

The easiest setup to maintain is the original system. With a good set of points (they can even be old used ones) you should be able to get 40+ years of service with proper lubrication.
